Root Galaxy Note 8.0 (LTE) GT-N5120 running on any official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware

Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5120 that you can get via LTE is on a trip to enjoy, via a rooting procedure, all the advantages that only this kind of procedure is able to fully deliver. And we are the ones to share that trip with all you users of this smartphone.

Chainfire is the one who decided to offer CF-Auto-Root to be used for our guide. His creation has all the right features, options and so on that will transform your phone into a great performing device. If the latter is not the Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5120 from LTE running on any official Android 4.2.2 JB firmware, you will not be able to follow this tutorial, because we only use this particular model. If you are not too sure about the model of your phone, then do as follows:

- open the handset

- go to "Settings"

- open "About phone".

Requirements

After you've checked the above, you should continue to the pre-requisites below:

  • the device needs to be the bootloader unlocked model;
  • you should turn on USB debugging on the same phone (by opening "Settings" and then going to "Developer Options" and searching for that option);
  • create a backup;
  • charge the battery of your particular smartphone version;
  • flash USB Drivers for this variant on your notebook (or comp);
  • download and save, on the laptop (or PC) the CF-Auto-Root and then Odin v3.07.

Important instructions

The two files that were downloaded not too long ago should be unzipped on the laptop. Then you will be asked to turn the phone off. That being said, continue by entering it in Download Mode like shown here: press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power at the same time, stop the second you see the Android logo and after that press Volume Up. The next thing you should be doing: open the Odin as Admin on the notebook and then make sure the Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5120 is plugged to your laptop; the latter is something which will be shown by either a message that reads "Added!!" or by a yellow-colored ID:COM box. However, there is a high chance that your device is not well-connected to the PC; in that situation, you should have a different approach:

- use another USB port

or

- flash those USB drivers once more on your notebook.

If you have completed those guidelines, you should continue with the instructions displayed underneath this:

- tap "PDA"

- choose the CF-Auto-Root-konalte-konaltexx-gtn5120.tar.md5 file

- opt for, in Odin, F. Reset Time and, last but not least, Auto Reboot

- let Re-partition be unchecked.

- tap "START".

Now wait until the rooting firmware gets to settle on your smartphone. This upcoming process is sure to end on a successful note when the handset begins to reboot and displays "PASS" (with a background colored green). The Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5120 from LTE should be attached to your PC no more; so take the USB cable out. Next important thing to accomplish: use Root Checker via Google Play to see if the phone is rooted 100%.

After you are told that the rooting went very well, you can return to your Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5120 (the LTE model) and install, on it, all the custom ROMs, root-only applications and everything else in-between!
